ACADEMIC WORKS
"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."
This powerful quote encapsulates the essence of who I am – a firm believer in humanism, inclusivity, and gender neutrality. In a world increasingly veering towards conformity and a singular worldview, I strive to create counter-narratives that challenge the status quo, provoke thought, and spark meaningful dialogue.
With a rich academic background spanning media, political science, and film studies, my journey has been defined by the pursuit of understanding and shaping perspectives. As an Associate Professor at the Bengaluru campus of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, I engage with young minds, sharing insights from my diverse experiences in journalism, academia, and creative storytelling.
My work has taken me across disciplines and institutions – from Reuters News and The Times of India to editorial leadership roles with The Cinemaholic and edInbox. I’ve authored a book on the surrealist films of David Lynch, edited works on digital communication and pandemic narratives, and published numerous research papers. These accomplishments reflect a commitment to exploring the intersection of media, culture, and society.
But beyond credentials and accolades, I am a communicator and thinker who values disagreement as the cornerstone of creativity. Agreements may bring comfort, but it is through opposing views that innovation and progress emerge.
This space is more than a portfolio; it’s a platform to share ideas, engage with diverse perspectives, and inspire curiosity. Whether it’s through academic resources, critical essays, or cinematic explorations, I invite you to join me in challenging conventional wisdom and crafting alternative worldviews.
